Combining  Centuries-Old Highland Tradition Creating Whiskies That Honour The  Land  While Daring To Be Different

Established in 1904 on the rugged shores of the Isle of Islay, the Heather Isle Distillery has been crafting exceptional single malt Scotch whisky for over a century. Our distillery stands where the Atlantic Ocean meets ancient Hebridean rock, a location that profoundly influences every drop we produce.

We draw our water from the Abhainn Gheal, a crystal-clear stream that flows through peat bogs and over granite, gathering character on its journey to our stillhouse. The maritime climate, with its persistent sea winds and temperate seasons, creates unique maturation conditions that cannot be replicated anywhere else in Scotland.

Our commitment to traditional methods remains unwavering. We still floor-malt a portion of our barley, turn it by hand, and dry it over peat cut from our own moorland. Our copper pot stills, installed in 1931 and maintained with meticulous care, produce a spirit of exceptional purity and character.

Each expression tells a story of place, time, and the dedicated craftspeople who have shaped our distillery across generations. This is whisky made without compromise, honouring both our heritage and the remarkable landscape that surrounds us.
