Beaches 

Falmouth is home to many spectacular beaches, offering a wide range of water sports and beach activities suitable for everyone. Beaches in Falmouth allow dogs from 1st October to Easter.

We are located about a ten-minute walk from Gyllyngvase beach which is one of the most popular in Cornwall, having ‘Blue Flag’ status, with its wide arc of golden sand and inviting sea.

Walking

From gentle beach-side strolls to longer creek-side and cliff walks, walkers of all ages and abilities will find something to suit in Falmouth. There are a wide range of trails covering coastal paths, bridleways, quiet lanes as well as the famous South West Coast Path, which runs right through Falmouth.

Cycling

There are a wide range of cycle trails to enjoy both around Falmouth and beyond. Cycle hire is available nearby and can be booked through us. We are able to provide free secure/covered cycle storage if you choose to bring a bike.

Attractions

Falmouth and Cornwall more widely, offers a wide range of activities for the entire family. Falmouth itself boasts some outstanding attractions including the Maritime Museum and Pendennis Castle. Further afield, The Eden Project and the Royal Cornwall Museum are nearby and provide an excellent day out.

Parks & Gardens

Falmouth has a number of peaceful and colourful gardens including Kimberley Park, Fox Rosehill Gardens, and Queen Mary Gardens. The beautiful Trebah and Glendurgan Gardens on the Helford River together with Enys and Penjerrick Gardens are a short drive away.

Eating & Drinking

Falmouth has a superb range of restaurants catering for all food tastes and requirements, earning an enviable reputation for its range and quality of dining options. This includes everything from fine dining restaurants to laid back beach cafés and a wide range of independent operators alongside more well-known names. Cornwall produces some of the finest seafood and farm produce in the country and the restaurants and cafes take full advantage of this as well as offering excellent vegan and vegetarian options.

Falmouth has a large and bustling town centre stretching from the High Street through to Arwenack Street and on to Events Square and the Maritime Museum. Falmouth Spring Festival | March

This is a vibrant, community-orientated event and the first main festival of the year, celebrating Falmouth’s open and green spaces. Organised by Falmouth BID, sponsored by the University of Exeter.

Falmouth International Sea Shanty Festival | June

The largest free maritime music festival on the planet! Shanty bands and singers from across the UK and Europe converge on Falmouth, bringing a wonderfully diverse range of shanties performed on stages throughout the town. The festival raises funds for the RNLI.

Falmouth Week | August

Falmouth Week has grown into one of the most prominent sailing regattas in the South West, with yachts from many classes racing over eight days along with a lively programme of shoreside events.

Falmouth Beer Festival | October

The CAMRA Kernow Falmouth Beer Festival will feature more than 240 fantastic real ales from local and national breweries and microbreweries, more than 70 real ciders and perries plus a range of craft beers, a Cornish gin bar and wines.

Falmouth Oyster Festival | October

The highlight of Falmouth’s Autumn calendar is this nationally recognised, award-winning annual festival which celebrates the start of the oyster dredging season. Including an oyster bar, a wide variety of seafood, wines and champagne, real ales and stouts, arts, crafts, food and drink halls, chef demos and all that is best in Cornish musical entertainment.
