The Itinerary

The weather really dictates the itinerary and the routes taken. The MV Cuma departs Miavaig in Loch Roag on Lewis, on Saturday afternoons after all the passengers are on board and have had their lunch.

 

The departure time depends on the arrival of the passengers and is usually around 3pm - 4pm.

Sample Itinerary As Follows :-

  • Saturday - Passengers arrive at Miavaig, check-in, have lunch onboard, then a  3-hour trip to Loch Resort area in Harris for a sightseeing cruise, followed by a quiet evening meal and peaceful night aboard. 

  • Sunday - Passage to St Kilda, passengers land and explore late afternoon/early evening, vessel anchors overnight.

  • Monday - Passengers provided with packed lunch and given all day to further explore the island, vessel remains at anchor overnight.

  • Tuesday - MV Cuma sails to The Monach Isles for a visit, and the vessel anchors overnight.

  • Wednesday - Depart The Monach Isles and visit Taransay, vessel anchors overnight.

  • Thursday - Return to Miavaig via Scarp, vessel anchors overnight.

Passengers disembark at Miavaig after breakfast on Friday morning, allowing time for passengers to drive to the Stornoway Ferry Terminal in time for the early afternoon ferry departure.
